Series consists of certificates for marriages performaed by Judge Simon Ehrlich of the City Court. Series appears to be incomplete, since volume 2 covering from Oct. 19, 1887 to Aug. 23, 1888 is not included. This volume, however, appears to have been missing for some time, since the stamped certificate numbers run continuously from volume 1 to volume 3. These stamped certificate numbers do not begin with number one because they pick up after the last number for the Mayor's Office marriages (described in record id NYNV89-a64). They seem to have been assigned at some unknown later date. Information given includes: names of bride and groom, residence, age, occupation, place of birth, father's name, mother's maiden name, number of marriage, date of marriage and witnesses. There is also some kind of alphabetical index of names in the front of each volume.
